Japanese learning software Two recs for those interested in learning Japanese:
1)
Kanji Gold : a free software for learning Japanese kanji. On each level, you'll have to choose the right reading (in hiragana/katakana) or meaning (in English) of the kanji displayed on screen. It has different levels, the first one has 80 kanji and the last, 3840. I started using it three years ago and found it very useful to associate kanji character with meaning.
2)
NJStar Japanese Word Processor : perfect for learning! You can write in hiragana, katakana, ASCII and romaji. In romaji mode, when you type a word, it displays bellow a few words (in standard Japanese, kanji and hiragana) with this reading. If you move the cursor over these words, the meaning (in English) pops up. It comes with a very complete Japanese-English/English-Japanese dictionary and a kanji dictionary. Downloadable demo.
